Chinese and Western culture is the longest in the world, two kind of culture is the most vitality. Their source, characteristics of different, but complementary sex is very strong also. These two kinds of culture from parallel to advance, from each other, and then to contact and integration, has experienced a long process. Finally, to achieve the mutual need real, many scholars pay arduous efforts, make a comparative study of two kinds of culture to go out of the ivory tower, for the vast number of cultural exchange participants and language users service. Professor Wang Xiaofeng is such a diligently strive after scholars. In 2004 she published a "culture" of English and Chinese words and translation, and now have the first time read her forthcoming "Chinese and Western culture and the English and Chinese idioms cultural comparative study" manuscript. So she put high energy in the research of comparison between Chinese and Western cultures, the scope of the study of English and Chinese words to expand from the contrast between English and Chinese idioms, research perspective is to further expand. Read this book, we found that the author examines the origin and evolution of Chinese and Western culture from a multicultural perspective, and pointed out that in the context of globalization, the network environment of the development trend of the two cultures, especially from the perspective of cross cultural awareness, examine the network culture and network communication, this is any person in particular, is a new topic of cultural studies scholars must face. Understanding the characteristics of Chinese and Western culture, analyzes the characteristics of Chinese and Western culture, is a subject of Chinese and Western cross-cultural communication has to face. Chinese and Western culture in their respective geographical, political environment and historical track of the development of the interpretation of its own characteristics. The old China culture needs time, and development, in order to adapt to the trend of globalization. The same old but aggressive elements of western culture, need to face in the process of internationalization of growing the future, and China culture and other culture of peaceful coexistence and common development challenges. Idioms or idiomatic expressions is the most active factor in language, they are loaded with cultural factors, can reflect the different ways of thinking and cultural value. To analyze the similarities and differences between English and Chinese Idioms from the perspective of cultural differences, to deepen understanding of the two kinds of cultural differences, thus more smooth cross-cultural communication, to truly grasp the principles and skills of English and Chinese idioms translation. Professor Wang Xiaofeng to concentrate on the main points on the basis of the analysis of theory, the interaction between theory and practice, namely the idioms of physical culture, this will no doubt another cultural interpretation model to provide English learners and translators.
